Dempsey Wood is a contractor of choice by Auckland International Airport, where we have carried out a range of civil works projects, including:
Completed ahead of schedule, this involved the installation of approximately 400 metres of 1,050mmØ stormwater pipe. Associated works included manholes, outlet structures and reinstatement works.
The construction of new road access to AIAL’s Marae, golf course and childcare facilities entailed earthworks, services and roading. We also constructed an 800m2 Cupolex slab for the childcare facility, which was redesigned, consented and built to tight construction deadlines.
This incorporated earthworks, roading (pavement construction and sealing), decorative footpaths, kerbs and channels, road marking and crossings, signage and relocation of cabling, street lights and lighting tower. Long-Term Carpark. This was an extension to the existing long-term airport carpark, providing 500 spaces over a 1.2ha site and comprising site clearance, bulk earthworks, kerb and channelling, light pole installation and ducting, sealing and marking.
This realignment of the existing road entrance to the international terminal forms part of the redevelopment of the international terminal’s transport and parking facilities towards 2011.
During these projects, it was critical our civil works did not impact on the airport’s businesses or customers by causing delays or hazards. The driving factor in Dempsey Wood achieving this was robust traffic and pedestrian management, as well as proactive public relations.
