Dempsey Wood was the civil works subcontractor for this state-of-the-art $12m development sited on an old landfill area, subject to landfill gases and subsidence, that also incorporated managing tidal flows into the Manukau Harbour outlet.

Key elements of the scope of works include earthworks and the removal of contaminated waste, a Megaflow box drainage for gas mitigration, stormwater drainage and raingardens, platforms, paving and carparks.

Dempsey Wood's alternative pavement design, utilising recycled crushed concrete, was an environmental initiative that also achieved a cost saving for the client.
