Airport Terminal Forecourt Upgrades
The streetscape upgrades of the Domestic and International Terminals' forecourts were individual contracts carried out in 2005 and 2008 respectively. The site locations effectively covered all entrances and exits to the terminals, and Dempsey Wood's detailed works staging proactive traffic, safety and risk management ensured access was maintained for the 50,000+ visitors per day.
Key aspects of the scope of works included site clearance, roading, footpaths, relocation of cabling and streetlights and the installation of subsoil drains and stormwater pipeline.

“This project was managed very well, and the work was planned in a manner which enabled a tight deadline to be met. This enabled a change of function of the forecourt area to occur on the nominated date for the client. DW identified a risk element early in the project relating to the design-build element (steel canopy structure). This enabled timelines to be modified accordingly for the delivery of this item. Typically, responsiveness was to a high level. Work was carried out to a very high standard, with minimal defects. Defects were typically addressed/remedied in a timely manner, with the site engineer being informed at all stages.”
