New Lynn TOD

In 2009 Dempsey Wood was awarded the $13.5m Stage 1 contract for the New Lynn Transit-Oriented Development; a project designed to improve New Lynn's transport and services infrastructure in tandem with an overall town centre upgrade.

Due to the successful delivery of Stage 1, Dempsey Wood was awarded the combined $21m Stage 2 & 3 contract in October 2010.
The contract works were carried out within and alongside busy urban streets, including a dual carriageway arterial route.  Some aspects of this project include 5 km of broadband cabling, a road-over-rail bridge, creation of a retail mall area, extensive roading activities, services works and landscaping.

 

 

Through proactive liaison with the client, stakeholders and other contractors working on adjacent projects, Dempsey Wood's team successfully managed significant work programming issues such as resource scheduling, traffic management and liaison with the numerous businesses, residents, pedestrians and motorists affected by the contract works.
