Waiuku Stream Upgrade
Innovative implementation of flood control barrier system facilitated Dempsey Wood's outstanding environmental performance on this 2010 NZCF Environmental Excellence Award winning project.
With the works being carried out within and alongside a tidal river, it was necessary to divert and dam the flows to provide a safe working area whilst maintaining strict environmental controls.
Key elements of the scope of works include stormwater upgrades, channel improvements, rocklining, construction of a concrete weir, earthworks and roading.

The works were carried out within a public reserve so public liaison and pedestrian and traffic management were important elements of this project.
